  • Storyline

    Renee Zellweger plays the title character of a middle aged and insecure British woman, Bridget Jones. She decides to make a New Year's resolution to quit smoking and drinking, lose weight and find herself a man. She starts a diary, documenting her work towards personal goals and also potential traits in her future husband. Her mother sets her up with their neighbor Mark Darcy, played by Colin Firth, but Bridget is less than interested. She is however attracted to her boss Daniel Cleaver, played by Hugh Grant. Bridget and Daniel start to date, but soon the honeymoon ends when she discovers he is cheating on her. Mark comes back into the picture and Bridget decides to give Mark another shot. Later on Daniel reemerges and Bridget is forced to forced to make a decision between the two men.
