  • The Beach Boys

    Brian Wilson formed The Beach Boys in 1961 with brothers Carl, Dennis, cousin Mike Love and friend Al Jardine. Brian was the main songwriter, bass player, arranger and producer of all the groups material. In 1964 Wilson stopped touring with the band after suffering a nervous breakdown. While the band toured the globe, Wilson stayed home to work on new material for the band. Wilson was replaced by Glen Campbell on the road during 1964 and 1965. Bruce Johnston would fill in for Wilson after '65.
  • Pet Sounds

    Pet Sounds is often cited as one of the greatest albums of all time. Wilson's unique choice of instrumentation, sound effects and recording techniques made Pet Sounds stand out from any Beach Boys record, and any other pop record released prior. The Beatles claimed it was a major influence on their Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band album.
