Canadian professional hockey player Brian Sutherby plays in the National Hockey League with the Anaheim Ducks.
NHL Career
Sutherby was drafted 26th overall in the 2000 NHL draft by the Washington Capitals. He joined the Capitals for his NHL debut in 2001 and split his first three seasons between the Capitals and their Western Hockey League and American Hockey League affiliates. After missing much of the 2003-04 season with a groin injury, Sutherby played with the Portland Pirates in the AHL during the 2004-05 NHL lockout. He returned to the Capitals after the lockout and played with the team until November 19, 2007, when he was traded to the Anaheim Ducks. On June 25, 2008, Sutherby renewed his contract with the Ducks to stay with the team for an additional year.
