Tight end Brian Mandeville most recently played college football for the Northeastern Huskies in 2008.
Mandeville was selected to particiapte in the 2009 NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, Indiana. Combine doctors however discovered that he has a heart valve condition and advised him to withdraw from the NFL draft. Against The Odds
Prior to receiving the potentially career-ending diagnosis of his heart condition, Mandeville faced other serious heath problems. In 2005, he was diagnosed with a brain tumor. He underwent surgery to remove the growth and missed the entire football season. Mandeville also missed four games of the 2008 season with a knee injury.SI.com: ... College Football Career
Mandeville began his collegiate career with the Huskies in 2004, playing as a defensive end for 10 games. He was granted a medical redshirt in 2005, but returned for 11 games with the Huskies in 2006. In his second season as a tight end in 2007, Mandeville started in all 11 games, recording 30 receptions for 411 yards and five touchdowns. His performance was honored with All-New England and All-CAA selections. During his senior year, Mandeville played in eight games, catching 24 passes for 337 yards and two touchdowns.
