    Brian Christopher Fuentes was born in Merced California on August 9, 1975. After attending Merced Junior College in California, Fuentes was selected by the Seattle Mariners in the 25th round of the 1995 draft.   • Pro Career

    Fuentes pitched just one season in Seattle, before the Mariners traded him along with Jose Paniagua and Dennis Stark to the Rockies for Jeff Cirillo.     On December 23, news agencies reported that Brian Fuentes had identified the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim as his preferred destination during his free agency period. Fuentes lives in nearby Merced, California and would welcome a move to the Angels. Fuentes stated, "They're still high on my list, they always have been. It looks like they're out of the market for Teixeira. They'll draw up a new plan, and hopefully I'll be a part of it."
