Brian Elliott is a professional ice hockey goaltender who plays for the Ottawa Senators of the National Hockey League. Eliot was born in 1985 in Newmarket, Ontario. Elliot was drafted by the Senators late in the 2003 NHL Draft out of the University of Wisconsin]. He worked his way up to the NHL level after three seasons playing for the Binghamton Senators of the American Hockey League. 2010-11 Season
Brian Elliott entered the 2010-11 season as the backup goalie for the Senators, behind starting goalie Pascal Leclaire. Elliott played in three preseason games with Ottawa, earning a record of 1-1-1in his three starts. An injury to Leclaire early in the season gave Elliott more playing time than expected early in the 2010-11 season. Elliott played in three consecutive games from October 14 to October 18. 2009-10 Season
The 2009-10 season was the first for Elliott as the starting goalie for the Ottawa Senators. He set a career high in games played, wins and shutouts. His seven shutouts in the season were the fifth most in the entire NHL. He recorded a shutout streak of over 184 minutes after shutting out the Montreal Canadiens on March 22 and the Philadelphia Flyers on March 23. Elliott made his playoff debut that season when the Senators qualified as a fifth seed, playing against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
