Brian Joshua Cook was born in Lincoln, Illinois on December 4, 1980. He attended Lincoln High School in Illinois and then continued his education at the University of Illinois. In his first season in Los Angeles, Cook played in 35 games. He became part of the regular rotation for the Lakers in 2004, where he played in 72 games.
