Brian Bruney is a professional baseball player for the New York Yankees. Brian was drafted into the minor leagues after graduating high school in 2000, making his MLB debut with the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2004. He signed with the Yankees in the summer of 2006.
On June 13, 2009, Bruney found himself in a verbal battle with Mets' pitcher Francisco Rodriguez. After reportedly saying that Rodriguez's penchant for displaying his emotions on the mound had become "a tired act," Bruney became the target of Rodriguez's ire. Rodriguez said that Bruney had "better keep his mouth shut and do his job," adding that he might have minded the comment "if it came out from somebody big."[1]
Career
After graduating high school in 2000, Bruney was drafted into the minor leagues. The Arizona Diamondbacks selected Bruney in thee 12th round, and assigned him to the Arizona League Diamondbacks. After four years in the minors, Bruney made his major league debut on May 8, 2004, where he pitched one inning in a loss to the Philadelphia Phillies. In the summer of 2006 the Diamondbacks released released Bruney, who then went on to singn a free agent deal with the Yankees.
Strengths:
Bruney has a strong arm, with the ability to hit 100 mph on the radar gun. He also posses a good slider.[1]

Becomes less effective with runners on base.[1]
