Brohm played at Trinity High School in Kentucky, and had a total of 10,579 yards passing with 119 touchdowns. Brohm led the team to three state titles, and was on the basketball team that went to the state tournament for the first time ever.

Brohm played at the University of Louisville from 2004 through 2007. Going into the 2007 season, Brohm was considered to be one of the top ten quarterbacks. He was eligible for the 2007 Draft, but decided to stay at Louisville for his senior year.

Brohm is being looked at by the Baltimore Ravens, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Atlanta Falcons, and the Minnesota Vikings in the draft. All four of these teams have quarterback issues.
