Just before the trade deadline, the Blackhawks waived Boucher, and he was picked up by the Columbus Blue Jackets on February 27, 2007. Boucher played 42 games with his old team, the Philadelphia Phantoms, then signed with the San Jose Sharks on February 26, 2008 to a one year contract. 2009-10 Season
Boucher began the 2009-10 season as the backup for the Philadelphia Flyers, behind starting goalie Ray Emery. He started playing regularly on November 18, 2009, after an injury to Emery moved Boucher into the starting role. That night he earned his first win of the season against the Los Angeles Kings. He remained the starter through December 21, 2009, when he suffered a finger injury in a game against the Florida Panthers. http://www.sbnation.com/nhl/players/54767/Brian_Boucher Despite recovering quickly, Boucher lost the starting job to Michael Leighton. He appeared in just one game during the months of January and February, frequently becoming a healthy scratch when Ray Emery returned from injury. However, Emery would become hurt again and when Leighton was injured in a March 16, 2010 game against the Nashville Predators, Boucher became the starter by default. He earned his first and only shutout of the season on April 6, 2010 against the Toronto Maple Leafs. Five days later, he made a game winning save in a shootout against the New York Rangers that sent the Flyers to the playoffs. He earned a playoff shutout in a series clinching game five win over the New Jersey Devils in the NHL Eastern Conference Quarterfinals. Boucher injured his left MCL in game five of the NHL Eastern Conference Semifinals against the Boston Bruins. He would return for the Stanley Cup Finals, where he was again a backup to Leighton.http://flyers.nhl.com/club/player.htm?id=8462052&season=20092010&view=gamelog
