49-year-old Brett Gilbert Taylor, from North Turramurra, Australia was a victim of the Mumbai terrorist attacks on November 26, 2008. Mr. Taylor was a fourth generation timber merchant and director of the St. Mary's company, Blacktown Timber, which he ran with his two brothers in west Sydney.
Mr. Taylor was shot during the Mumbai terrorist attack and was taken to St. George's Hospital, Mumbai, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. His nephew Matt Taylor, who works at the same company, said the family was "quite nervous" while trying to get in contact with Mr. Taylor before being notified of his death. He said the family had spoken to Mr. Taylor before the attacks but had no contact with him during the attacks. The only details the family heard were that he had been shot at the Oberoi Hotel and died on his way to hospital. "I'd like him to be remembered as a very loyal family man and that he did live for his family and it's a very tragic time for everybody involved and we plan on continuing his memory and continuing to further the business in his memory," Mr. Taylor's nephew said.
