Brett McLean

  • NHL Career

    McLean was drafted 242nd overall in the 1997 NHL Draft by the Dallas Stars. He spent the next few seasons in the minors, playing for a variety of affiliates of the Dallas Stars, Calgary Flames and Minnesota Wild. McLean signed as a free agent with the Chicago Blackhawks on July 23, 2002. He made his NHL debut during the 2002-2003 season and played one additional season in Chicago before signing with the Colorado Avalanche on July 22, 2004. McLean played for the Malm Redhawks of the Elitserien in Sweden during the 2004-05 NHL Lockout. Following the lockout, he returned to play two seasons with the Avalanche before signing as a free agent with the Florida Panthers on July 1, 2007.
