Frontman Bret Michaels has sold over 25 million albums with his band Poison. One of his solo songs "Go That Far" was included on Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock along with a 1986 hit "Talk Dirty To Me". He has also starred on VH1's Rock of Love and Rock of Love 2 reality television series.
Bret Michaels was born in Butler, Pennsylvania on March 15, 1963. At the age of six, Michaels was diagnosed with Type I diabetes, a condition which has required him to take insulin on a daily basis.
Michaels has two daughters with former romantic interest Kristi Lynn Gibson. His first daughter, Raine Elizabeth Sychak was born on May 20, 2000, his second daughter Jorja Bleu Sychak was born May 5, 2005.

Michaels Still in Critical Condition after Suffering Brain Hemorrhage
As of May 1, 2010, Bret Michaels is still being hospitalized at the Barrow Neurological Institute's intensive care unit in Phoenix, Arizona having suffered, what doctors have described as a massive subarachnoid hemorrhage, which in laymen terms is bleeding at the base of the brain stem, on April 22nd. http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20363506,00.html

Michaels was still reportedly rehabilitating from that surgical intervention at a facility that specializes in surgical rehabilitation for diabetic patients.
At the moment, there are no reports if the singer's brain hemorrhage is in anyway related to the appendectomy procedure or his preexisting diabetic condition.
