Bret Hedican

  • Bret Hedican is a professional hockey player in the National Hockey League. After playing over five seasons with the Carolina Hurricanes, Hedican signed with the Anaheim Ducks on October 23, 2008.
  • NHL Career

    Hedican was originally drafted 198th overall in the 1988 NHL draft by the St. Louis Blues. He did not join the NHL right away, choosing to attend St. Cloud State University for three years first. He made his NHL debut with the Blues in 1991, playing just four games that year. Hedican was then traded to the Vancouver Canucks on March 21, 1994. After nearly five seasons in Vancouver, Hedican was traded to the Florida Panthers on January 17, 1999. He was then traded to the Carolina Hurricanes on January 16, 2002, helping them win the Stanley Cup Championship in 2006.
