  • Early Years

    Johnson began his career with the Owen Sound Platers in the Ontario Hockey League in 1994. He was then drafted 129th overall in the 1995 NHL draft by the Colorado Avalanche. Johnson continued to play strictly in the minors, and was traded to the St. Louis Blues on May 30, 1997. Johnson made his NHL debut the following year, playing six games for the Blues that year. He split the next few years between the Blues and their American Hockey League affiliate, the Worcester IceCats.
  • Recent Years

    Johnson was traded from the Blues to the Phoenix Coyotes on March 4, 2004. He played just eight games with the Coyotes then entered free agency and signed with the Vancouver Canucks on September 1, 2005. Johnson was quickly waived by the Canucks then picked up by the Washington Capitals on October 4, 2005. He has continued with the Capitals in the years since, backing up veteran goaltender Olaf Kolzig. On January 12, 2007, Johnson renewed his contract to stay with the Capitals for two additional seasons.
