Brennan Boesch is a professional baseball player and was the third selection of the Detroit Tigers in the 2006 Amateur Major League Baseball drafthttp://detroit.tigers.mlb.com/team/draft.jsp?c_id=det&year=2006. He attended and played for the University of California-Berkeley after graduating from Harvard-Westlake High School where he batted .490 and hit 7 Home Runs during his senior year.
Boesch is a left-handed hitter who also throws from the same side. He makes his off-season home in Los Angeles, California.
On April 24, 2010 he made his Major League Debut with the Detroit Tigers against the Texas Rangers. He recorded his first hit, a double off the left field wall in his first at bat and on the first pitch, as the Tigers dropped a 5 - 4 decision to the hometown Rangers. He made his first appearance hitting 5th in the lineup as the Designated Hitter.
While in college at the end of the 2006 season, he earned Honorable Mention All-Pac-10 Conference honors. Brennan was recommended/signed by Scott Cerny of the Detroit Tigers. He participated, this past off season in the Tigers' Winter Caravan.

Boesch was invited to the Detroit Tigers Major League camp during Spring Training and made a good impression on management. When Tigers' Designated Hitter, Carlos Guillen was placed on the 15 day Disabled List, Brennan got the call to head to Detroit, where he made his debut with 2 hits against the Texas Rangers.

After his first 15 games Boesch has drivien in 15 runs and scored another 4. He has 6 doubles, a triple and 2 home runs. His current average of .352 places him 3rd on the team behind, Miguel Cabrera and Austin Jackson.

Brennan Boesch 2009 Season
Brennan was awarded Eastern League mid- and post-season all-star honors while playing with Detroit Tiger affiliate, Double A Erie.
He Led the Eastern League with 28 home runs, 61 extra-base hits and 269 total bases and was named Double A Erie's Player of the Year'

Brennan Boesch 2008 Season
Boesch played in the Florida State League for the Detroit Tigers' affiliate Single A Lakeland team. He owned a .471 batting average, with 22 RBIs when hitting with the bases loaded.
