  • NHL Career

    Witt was drafted 11th overall in the 1993 NHL draft by the Washington Capitals. He continued to play for his junior team, the Seattle Thunderbirds of the Western Hockey League, for one season after the draft, then did not play during the 1994-95 season after failing to reach a contract agreement with the Capitals. After agreeing to a deal, Witt joined the Capital NHL lockout, when he spent a year with the Bracknell Bees in the English Premier Ice Hockey League. He returned to the Capitals after the lockout and played 58 games with the team before he was traded to the Nashville Predators on March 9, 2006. Witt finished the season with the Predators, then signed as a free agent with the New York Islanders on July 3, 2006.
