  • Professional Career

Morrison was drafted 39th overall by the New Jersey Devils during the second round of the 1993 NHL Entry Draft. He attended the University of Michigan and played on the Wolverines' NCAA hockey team for the next four years.

Morrison spent most of the 1997-1998 season with the Albany River Rats of the American Hockey League, although he played 11 games with the Devils, during which he scored five goals and assisted on four more.

The following season, Morrison was a full-time member of the Devils team, where he remained until he was traded to the Vancouver Canucks in early 2000. From 2001 through 2004, Morrison played on the so-called "West Coast Express" line along with Markus Naslund and Todd Bertuzzi. The line was considered to be one of the League's best, especially during the 2002-2003 season, when Naslund and Morrison both earned career high point tallies and Bertuzzi placed fifth overall in League scoring.

During the summer of 2005, Morrison signed a three year contract with the Canucks at an average salary of over $3 million per year. After the contract's expiration, Morrison signed a one-year contract with the Anaheim Ducks.

Morrison holds the Vancouver Canucks franchise record for most consecutive games played as a Canuck, having played 534 games in a row and not missing a single game in over six seasons.
