  • Singer-songwriter Brendan Benson began his career at the age of 26 after releasing his debut album One Mississippi. He had several label problems and weak sales which caused him to retreat back to his home in Detroit and create his own recording studio where he produced and recorded other bands. Meanwhile, his debut album had become an underground hit and renewed Benson's faith in his song writing abilities.

Brendan recorded his second album 'Lapalco' in his home studio which received high praises from the critics. He collaborated with Jack White of The White Stripes band on his third album The Alternative to Love, and it quickly became his best selling album.

In 2005, after he and Jack White had written "Steady As She Goes", they decided to create their own band named The Raconteurs and released their second album Consolers of the Lonely on March 25, 2008.
