Breaking Upwards is a 2009 film directed by Daryl Wein. The screenplay is written by Peter Duchan, Zoe Lister Jones and Daryl Wein.

A young New York couple, played by Daryl Wein and Zoe Lister Jones, decide to break-up. The reason for the break-up is their growing co-dependency on each other. Since they plan on the split being completely amicable, they set out to organize and plan all the details before they make it official. They even go as far as choosing possible future companions for each other. Although they at first succeed at having an open relationship, personal feelings start to creep back in. Which inevitably causes problems and emotions neither of them ever considered.
