Brandy Norwood

Brandy Norwood is an American singer and actress. She began singing at the age of two, and participated in the Gospel choir that her father directed. She was discovered as an early teen by manager Chris Strokes, who got her the opportunity to be signed by Atlantic Records at the age of 14. At that point, Brandy's mother left her job to manage her daughter full time. After her album became a hit, Brandy was cast in the title role of of the 1995 television show Moesha. She also later starred in a movie version of Cinderella that was produced by Whitney Houston. Brandy was born Brandy Rayana Norwood on February 11, 1979 in McComb, Mississippi. Her father is a church pastor named Willie Ray Norwood, and her mother is his wife Sonja Norwood.
