The Brandon Wheat Kings are a major junior hockey team in the East Division of the Western Hockey League (WHL). The Brandon Wheat Kings finished the 2009-10 season atop their division, posting a 50-18-1-3 record. They advanced to the playoffs, sweeping the Swift Current Broncos in the first round. The Wheat Kings advanced to the second round where they took the series against the Saskatoon Blades four games to two. The Wheat Kings were eliminated in the Conference Finals by the Calgary Hitmen four games to one. Topping the Wheat Kings during the regular season were Matt Calvert, Brayden Schenn, Scott Glennie, and Aaron Lewadniuk. Calvert and Schenn were tied first in points with 99 each, while Calvert led in goals with 47, and Schenn led in assists with 65. Glennie was second in both points and assists with 89 points and 49 assists, while Lewadniuk finished second in goals with 37, and third in points with 86.
