Brain Cancer

  • Brain Cancer has two different forms. Primary brain cancer starts in the brain, while secondary brain cancer starts somewhere else in the body and moves to the brain. The types of primary brain cancer are classified according to the cells which they originate from. All abnormal cell growths in the brain, whether benign or malignant, are collectively known as brain tumors.
  • Gliomas and Meningiomas

The two most common types of brain cancer are gliomas and meningiomas. Gliomas start in the glial cells, which are the supportive cells of the nervous system. Meningiomas start in the arachnoidal membrane, a web-like net of cells that covers the brain and spinal cord.
