Braid Introduction
- Braid is a 2D side-scrolling platformer for the Xbox Live Arcade developed by the independent company Number None Inc, headed by Jonathan Blow. David Hellman, author of the web comic A Lesson Is Learned But The Damage Is Irreversible, contributed his artistic design to the game's environment and background.
- There are six different worlds in the game, each ruled by a different set of natural laws. Tim, the game's protagonist, must take these laws into account when solving the various puzzles in each of these unique worlds in an attempt to find and rescue his Princess. What sets Braid apart from other games of its genre is its focus on clever puzzle solving using the game's many methods of manipulating time.
- Because of the nature of this game, it must be stressed that usage of a walkthrough should be a last resort. Half of the fun from playing a game like Braid comes from the satisfaction of knowing that you completed a tough puzzle all by yourself.Joystiq: The official Braid walkthrough says, 'Please do not use a walkthrough' (August 7, 2008)
- </ref> If you do need a little push in the right direction though, this walkthrough will detail step by step instructions for finding all of the puzzle pieces in the game, in addition to the locations of the eight secrets stars.
- Braid development began in 2006, and has been presented at a variety of independent game competitions and conventions. Braid has won a few awards, including the 2006 Independent Games Festival award for "Innovation in Game Design" and IGN's award for "Best Puzzle Game of E3 2008."Independent Games Festival: 2006 IGF Winners IGN: IGN's Overall Best of E3 2008 Awards

Controls
- Tim's move set is very limited.
- Pressing the A button will cause Tim to jump. The longer you hold it, the higher he will jump.
- Press B to activate switches and open doors.
- Press Y in World 6 to drop your slow motion ring.
- Press and hold X to rewind time. While holding X, you can adjust the speed of your rewind by pressing LB.
- While holding X, you can also pause time or speed up time to the point where you started rewinding by pressing RB.

Puzzle Solving Tips
- Anything that glows green is immune to Tim's time manipulation powers. Whenever you see something glowing, it will always be instrumental in solving the puzzle.
- Whenever you see a puzzle piece that is just out of reach of a normal jump, it means you need to jump on an enemy. If no enemy is nearby, the focus of the puzzle is to get an enemy from one part of the level, to the part with the puzzle piece.
- Don't forget about your ability to speed up and pause your rewinding ability. If there is a glowing green platform or enemy that you need to jump on, pause time while you're in the air and wait for it to get under you. If you need to get somewhere faster than you can run, speed up your rewinding to 4x or 8x.
- Jumping on one enemy will get you to jump high. Jumping on another enemy right after will get you to jump even higher.
- Learn to always rewind to correct a mistake. If you mis-time a jump on an enemy, rather than waiting for the enemy to come back, just rewind time and make a slight adjustment to your jump.
