World 1 - 1.
The path to World 1 won't be open until you've completed all of the jigsaw puzzles for each of the worlds.
Once you've done so, climb the large ladder in the hub world to reach the attic. The door here will take you to World 1.
1-4
You'll quickly notice that everything in this world moves in reverse. Wait a couple of seconds and rewind time to see what I mean.
To reach the door, stand over where the enemies are flying up from and stomp on one to bring it back to life. From there, just use it as a springboard like you've always done to reach the door.
1-3
Same deal here. Place your self over where the enemies emerge to bring them back to life. Once you bring one of them to life, climb the ladder all the way to the top and wait for the world to work its magic.
The enemy will fly up the platforms on the right, allowing you to springboard off of it and into the door.
1-2
This is exactly the same as the previous level, except this time there is no ladder to get you up to the top.
Instead, you'll have to jump on the enemy as it flies up the platforms and bounce to the right once it reaches the top.
It's extremely tricky, so make use of your rewind power to fine tune your jumps and you'll eventually make it to the door.
Braid
Spoiler Alert! If you don't want to be spoiled the ending of Braid, please do not read this section. There is an unavoidable plot twist at the end of this section that I cannot help but spoil by writing this walkthrough.
Head down the ladder and wait for the knight to make his way down with the Princess. The Princess will eventually break free and starting running away. It's your job to follow her and clear the way while she does the same for you.
There's a wall of fire behind you so you need to make haste. First, jump up the rubble to reach the ledge on the right.
Wait for the Princess to open the gate for you and then climb up and down the four ladders.
Run past the killer plants.
Jump over the draw bridge once it's low enough for you to clear it.
Wait at the edge before the fire pit for the wall of fire to get really close before jumping. The Princess will activate the platform below just in time.
Head down the ladder, jump over the fireballs, and flip the switch at the top of the second ladder to clear the way for the Princess.
Head back down and continue to the right.
Proceed across the fence.
Jump on the spiny enemies here to reach the switch at the top.
Head back down and jump over the next enemy to make it into the narrow opening.
The Princess will raise the next elevator for you, so just wait for her to get to the switch.
Proceed past the next two killer plants and your home free.
Climb the fence and reach the Princess' balcony.
It's over! Isn't it? Nope not quite. Let's see what really happened. Hold X to rewind the entire scene. Looks like Tim's not such a great guy after all.
Epilogue
There is actually secret text to be found in the epilogue that can be found by opening a red book and then hiding behind a piece of the background before touching a green book.
The first piece of hidden text can be found just by moving behind the rock to the right of the first book.
Grab the key to the left and unlock the door on the right to proceed forward.
Hop down to open the next red book. Climb up the ladder to learn that there is more to the text than "water starved monkeys."
To get the second piece of hidden text, rewind time after you've opened the red book and hide behind the pillows on the left.
Continue heading right and you'll find the next red book in between two green books.
To get the next piece of hidden text, wait a couple of seconds at the red book, then move to the right to find a glowing platform.
Rewind time here until you hear a book close. Once you hear that sound, move back to the left and hide behind the statue.
Head to the right for the next red book that is between two green ones.
To get the next piece of hidden text, hit the switch on the right to make the platform move up. Once it reaches the top, hit the switch again to bring it back down.
Now move back to the red book and rewind time to make the platform rise again.
Jump to the left and hide behind the rock.
From there, just head to the right, read the rest of the books, and exit through the door.
The game ends right where it began with one word: "Braid".
The Eight Stars
Hidden throughout Braid are eight stars that complete the constellation outside of the main house.
These stars are hidden ridiculously well and don't really offer any kind of reward or achievement for finding them.
Still, if you are a completionist and feel like you need to find these stars, here are their locations.
Note: To get the 7'th star, you must NOT put together the puzzle for World 3.
Star #1
- This star is located within World 2-2, "The Cloud Bridge."
- This first star requires little skill, but a ridiculous amount of patience. Let me show you what I mean.
- From the start, head all the way over to the right side of the level. You see that cloud up there that isn't moving? Well, it actually is moving at a rate of roughly 1 CM a minute.
- Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to wait until the cloud makes its way over to the platform where an enemy is patrolling, bounce off the enemy to get on to the cloud, and then wait until the cloud makes it all the way to the opposite end of the level. At this point, you are to jump over the wall on the left where you'll find your star.
- The whole process takes about 2 hours, so be sure to clear some time out of your schedule.
- If you don't have a wired controller, note that you'll either have to periodically turn on your controller when it goes to sleep, or you'll have to periodically press a button so that it doesn't think that it is idle.

Star #2
- This star is located in World 4-5, "Movement By Degrees"
- The first step to getting this star is the same as getting the second puzzle piece. Start off at the top of the first ladder, and make your way towards the right until you see that the right most plant up top is in his pipe. Immediately pause time and rewind so that you get a green glowing enemy past the three killer plants.
- Use the enemy to spring board on to the platform with the puzzle piece.
- Now, walk all the way to the left where the puzzle piece is, and do the same thing. Walk off the edge and keep walking to the right until the third plant is back in his pipe.
- Rewind time to once again get an enemy on your platform. Bounce off him to reach the ledge that is directly above where the puzzle piece was.
- Repeat the process one more time. Fall down, walk towards the right and rewind time to get an enemy on to the platform with the puzzle piece. This time however, you should be on the ledge above the puzzle piece. What you need to do here is bounce off the enemy so that you can jump over the killer plant on the right side.
- Try to jump over the second killer plant. You'll die, but this is what you want. The right most plant should be in its pipe while you're dead, so pause time to let the enemy walk by it. Once it makes it past the first plant, rewind time to bring yourself back to life and walk backwards to make the second plant go back in its pipe.
- Once the enemy clears the second plant, bounce off of it to jump over the plant.
- From here, all you have to do now is jump on the next enemy, pause time near the pipe, resume time to jump on the next enemy that comes out and land on the platform with the star.
