  • Star #3

    1. This star is located in World 4-7, "Fickle Companion"
    2. Start off by climbing the first ladder and heading towards the right.
    3. Jump off the edge, kill the enemy down below and then rewind time to get back on top of the canon.
    4. Quickly position yourself right in front of the canon and jump on the enemy that comes out to bounce straight up.
    5. Continuously press X to rewind time rapidly and keep yourself in mid-air. Bounce off of the next enemy that comes out to land on a secret platform above.
    6. Run all the way to the right and run off the edge to come back down.
    7. Jump down to the base of the ladder and kill the enemy that got fired from the canon while you were up on the platform.
    8. Quickly climb the ladder and jump to the left before another enemy is fired from the canon.
    9. Once again, repeatedly press X to rapidly rewind and play time, this time however, your goal is to get the enemy to bounce off of you. Once it lands on you once, hold X to rewind time further so that you can make the enemy bounce up to the platform above.
    10. Once the enemy is on the platform above, wait until it grabs the key. Once it has the key in its possession, rewind time so that you are back on that platform.
    11. Jump over the enemy and head to the left side of the ladder.
    12. When the enemy comes near, you have to steal the key and climb the ladder without killing the enemy.
    13. Unlock the door, flip the switch, run back to the left and jump on the box.
    14. Wait here until the enemy comes back and picks up the key again. Once it does, rewind time to the point where you flipped the switch. This will let the enemy and the key get to the left side of the gate.
    15. Once they're on the left side, follow them over there and park yourself on the left side of the ladder.
    16. Steal the key, climb the ladder and follow the path all the way to the right to claim your third star.

  • Star #4

    1. This star is located in World 5-4, "Crossing the Gap"
    2. Step 1 is to make your way up to the switch that controls the moving platform.
    3. Flip the switch so that the platform is on the left side.
    4. Jump down and kill the enemy below, but rewind time so that you're back by the switch
    5. Your clone will take care of the enemy and a new one will pop out from the canon on the left.
    6. When the enemy gets near the edge of the platform, drop down and jump underneath the enemy to kill yourself and bounce the enemy upwards.
    7. Rewind time so that you're back next to the switch. When your clone bounces the enemy towards you, bounce it again and rewind time.
    8. The goal here is to continue this process of juggling the enemy with your clones until it bounces off the small wall on the right, and then makes its way to the platform with the puzzle piece.
    9. Once it gets on this platform, another enemy will be shot out from the canon. Use this enemy to make it up to the platform with the puzzle piece.
    10. Bounce straight up off the enemy to land on a secret platform above.
    11. Jump across the three platforms to claim your star.

  • Star #5

    1. This star is located in World 6-5, "Impassable Foliage"
    2. The first part of the method to get this star is just like the method for getting puzzle piece #2 in this level.
    3. Make your way to the right side of the level where you'll find the three killer plants and a canon that shoots out enemies.
    4. Use your ring to make it so that there is a time when all three plants are in their pipes and pause time.
    5. This should allow two enemies to make their way across and on to the platform with the puzzle piece.
    6. Once the two enemies fall down, bounce off the two of them to make it onto the platform above.
    7. When the killer plant retreats, jump to the ledge on the right and position yourself between the first and second plants from the left.
    8. Pause time once all three plants are in their pipes, and wait until an enemy makes it to the left side of the ledge.
    9. Before he runs into the last plant, jump on him and veer towards the platform with the puzzle piece.
    10. Rewind and pause time at the point where the plants are back in their pipes. Wait for another enemy to make his way to the metallic platform. Once he's nearby, fast forward time to the point where you've already bounced off the enemy and are above the metallic platform.
    11. When the enemy gets near, bounce of him and veer towards the left again to land on top of the ceiling.
    12. Keep heading left and jump on top of the next metallic platform.
    13. When you get about 3/4s of the way across this platform, put down your ring.
    14. Fall down on top of the canon.
    15. This is very difficult and will test your patience almost as much as the first star. Your goal here is to bounce off the enemies as they are fired from the canon, slow yourself down by jumping into the slow motion circle, and then while you're still in the air, jump on another enemy to make it on top of the lower half of the metallic platform.
    16. Remember that the closer you are to the center of the circle, the slower you move. Use this fact adjust your bounces.
    17. Once you make it on the platform, just run off the edge to your right and grab the star.

  • Star #6

    1. This star is located in World 6-6, "Elevator Action"
    2. Start off the level as you would normally by making your way up the ladders and past the fireballs.
    3. When you reach the key, a bunny should pop out when you get close. Normally you'd kill the bunny without a second thought, but for this star we need it alive for now.
    4. Lure the bunny on to the elevator and flip the switch to bring it up. Use the ring if you have to in order to slow the bunny down to make it easier to avoid.
    5. When the elevator reaches the top you need to play around with the bunny a bit. Try to make it so that the bunny leaps at you while it is on the middle of the ledge.
    6. Before the bunny jumps, lay down your ring to slow it down.
    7. Do this several times and make sure that you have the bunny in the middle.
    8. Once you're satisfied, lay your ring on the elevator, send it down and head down the ladders like you normally would on this level.
    9. Pick up your ring and go to the right side of the stage. Go through the motions of getting the second puzzle piece for this level. If you don't remember how to do so, refer back to the Elevator Action section of this guide.
    10. Instead of climbing the slowed down falling ladder to get the puzzle piece, you want to rewind time at 8x speed once you're on the ladder so that it takes you up all the way to the top. Remember that you have to be glowing green while you're on the ladder so that you're immune to your own rewinding power.
    11. Once you're on the top, head to the left and you'll find a spot on the ground that is glowing. Stand on top and rewind all the way back until you see the bunny start jumping like you made it.
    12. If you made the bunny jump in the middle of the platform, it should give you a suitable springboard to reach the star on the platform to the left. Wait until the bunny goes into its leaping animation, resume time and then time your jump so that you bounce off of the bunny once it is at its highest point.
    13. Note that you only have a limited number of tries at this. Once you've gone through all of the times you made the bunny jump, you'll have to start all over. So make it count if you don't want to do it all again.

  • Star #7

    1. Compared to the rest of the stars, this one is pretty easy. You'll actually find this star in Tim's house.
    2. To get this star, you must have at least one of the bridge pieces from World 2 as well as two specific pieces from World 3. You can find these two pieces in the levels "Phase" and "Irreversible."
    3. Note: You cannot obtain this star if you have already assembled the puzzle for World 3.
    4. In Tim's house, go to the World 3 puzzle and isolate the piece with the cracked plate and the piece that has a green shape in one of the corners. If you rotate these two pieces so that the shapes in the corners face each other and put them together, you will form the bottom part of a star.
    5. Press B to get out of the puzzle for a second. Examine the window above the puzzle in the room for World 3. If you look closely, you'll see a small triangle that appears to be the top of a tree in the leftmost window. This triangle actually forms the top part of the star. Try to position the pieces of the puzzle so that they match up with the triangle in the window.
    6. If you do it correctly, the star will appear in the shape that you created.
    7. To get the star, go over to the puzzle in the World 2 room. Place the puzzle piece with the bridge in the bottom right corner. If you have the second bridge piece, place it just above.
    8. Continue jumping on the bridge pieces until you're able to jump on to the black rectangle that separates the World 2 room from the World 3 room. From there, just jump to the left to snag the star.

  • Star #8

    1. The final star is located in the final level, "Braid".
    2. Complete the level like you normally would. You'll notice that two of the switches are now glowing green.
    3. When you hit the second glowing switch, rewind time to before you climbed the ladder to hit the first one.
    4. Since these switches have already been hit, you don't have to go out of your way to get to them.
    5. Move quickly through the rest of the level until you reach the broken chandelier.
    6. Jump on the step to the right of the chandelier and wait for it to be put back together.
    7. When it starts to reform, jump on top of it to be brought up along with it.
    8. As soon as you reach the Princess, she'll turn white and explode.
    9. The screen will flash white, the music will stop, and you will be able to climb up the ladder, proceed to the right and grab the final hidden star.
