Former head of the Civil Rights Division of the U.S. Department of Justice (D.O.J.) Bradley Schlozman resigned from the department in August 2007. On January 1, 2009, Barack Obama's nominee for Attorney General, Eric Holder, said that he will be looking into how the various scandals associated with hiring practices affected the Department of Justice.
