  • Early Life

    Stephen Bradley Wilkerson was born in Owensboro, Kentucky on June 1, 1977. In the 1995 Major League Baseball draft Wilkerson would be drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 13th round. But Wilkerson would elect to attend college. He would attend the University of Florida, where he would help the baseball team win the College World Series in 1996 and in 1998. In 2000, he would be part of the underdog Team USA baseball team to win the Gold Medal at the Sydney Olympics.
  • Pro Career

    Wilkerson would be drafted by the Montreal Expos with the 33rd pick in the Major League Baseball Draft in 1998. Wilkerson would then make his Major League debut on July 12, 2001 with the Expos. Wilkerson would develop into an everyday outfielder and occasional first baseman. When the franchise moved to Washington D.C., as the Washington Nationals, Wilkerson would become the everyday leadoff hitter for the club. In 2005, Wilkerson would be traded with Terrmel Sledge to the Texas Rangers for Alfonso Soriano and pitcher Armando Galarraga. In 2008, Wilkerson would sign a one year contract with the Seattle Mariners, where he struggled with the team and would eventually be released. He would then sign with the Toronto Blue Jays in May of 2008.
