Bowmaster Prelude is a Flash game hosted on a number of sites, including Kongregate. It takes place in a medieval time period with players controlling a bow and arrow on the top of the castle. The player then fires on incoming waves of enemies until each level is completed. The game was created by Jason Reinsvold of Lostvectors.com, and is hosted by both Kongregate.com and Dragongamez.com. Bowmaster Prelude is the first in a series including the upcoming Bowmaster: Winter Storm.
Gameplay
Players can fire their bow in a variety of ways, depending on their settings, though the default is to click and drag the bowstring backwards and release. Mastery of this mechanic is key, as players need to be able to do this quickly and accurately to survive each level. After each level, players spend money on upgrades for both their arrows and ground troops. Upgrading is essential to surviving later rounds.
Enemy waves generally consist of footmen, archers, cavalry, mages, and catapults. The enemy castle can also be destroyed, but requires stronger weaponry from later upgrades. Players can also use their own ground troops if they pay for them and have a high enough population left in their own base.
Tips and Cheats
If you're having to much trouble with the click and drag method, go to the options and try auto-aim. It makes firing much easier.
