Bowling Green Falcons Football

  • The Bowling Green Falcons is a college football team that plays in the MAC Conference. The team has won 15 conference championships, five while playing in the Northwest Conference and 10 in the MAC.

    Following a 6-6 record during the team's 2008 season, head coach Gregg Brandon was dismissed. Brandon has served as head coach for six years.ESPN.com: Brandon Out As Bowling Green Coach After 6 Years On December 12, 2008, Dave Clawson, the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for the Tennessee Volunteers, was named Brandon's successor.

  • History

    The BGSU football program was founded in 1919 as an independent. The Falcons moved over to the Northwest Conference in 1921, winning the conference championships the first two years. Starting in 1931, the team split their play between the Ohio Conference and as an independent, before joining the MAC in 1952.
