The Bowl Selection Show is an annual televised special used to announce which NCAA football teams will participate in the college bowl games. While many of the college bowl games are affiliated with certain college football conferences and give conference members the first opportunity to participate in their games, the exact match-ups of all 35 college bowl games are not official announced until the Bowl Selection Show.http://www.signonsandiego.com/news/2010/nov/18/bcs-influence-has-made-bowl-games-virtually-meanin/
The teams are selected by the BCS committee based on their regular-season record, which must include a winning record with over six wins. The top two teams in the BCS standings at the end of the season automatically earn bids to play in the BCS Championship Game to determine the champion of NCAA Football. The remainder of the teams that play in the total of five BCS bowl games are determined by a number of factors including automatic bids for specific conferences, BCS standings and other criteria.http://www.bcsfootball.org/news/story?id=4819597
For the 2010 college football season, the Bowl Selection Show aired on ESPN, home of the Bowl Championship Series games, on December 5, 2010, at 9:00 p.m. EST. The participants in each of the 2010-11 college bowl games were announced at that time.http://www.bcsfootball.org/news/story?id=5542380

BCS Headquarters Spoof
In a spoof of the process by which college football teams are selected to play in the five Bowl Championship Series games, including the game to determine the national championship, Global Sports Fraternity uses chimpanzees in an office setting. Rather than studying the teams and the poll data, one chimpanzee is seen "rocking out" in his office.
