Private Bowe R. Bergdahl was captured by the Taliban on June 30, 2009. According to the U.S. military, Bergdahl, age 23, was captured after he left his assigned post in Afghanistan.

In the video released by the Taliban, Pvt. Bergdahl can bee seen wearing a blue Afghan tunic. The video runs 28 minutes, Bergdahl says, "I'm scared I won't be able to go home. It is very unnerving to be a prisoner... I have my girlfriend who is hoping to marry. . . .
