Botox Bag

The Botox Bag is a crocodile handbag designed by Zagliani. It was created by dermatologist Mauro Orietti-Carella, who injects the bags with silicone to make the skins softer and the texture more even.

Zagliani Designer

Zagliani Bags, often referred to as Botox Bags, were designed by label owner Mauro Orietti-Carella. The Milan, Italy born designer started as a student dermatologist working at a hospital with burn victims until the work became too emotional for him. After attending fashion college, he landed work in sales and production, eventually working his way up to being a consultant for Zagliani. He later bought the company and began experimenting with injecting silicone into animal skin bags to give the texture a smoother and softer feel. Today, Zagliani produces roughly only 2,000 bags every season, because of the rarity of snake and crocodile skin. Zagliani insists that the real allure of the bag is the craftmanship, not the novelty of the chemical injections.
