  • Judy Holliday reprises her role from the Broadway version of Born Yesterday in the 1950 film, directed by George Cukor. Holliday stars as the ditzy mistress to a millionaire tycoon, played by Broderick Crawford. William Holden is the tutor brought in to smarten her up.
  • Plot Synopsis

    When millionaire Harry Brock, played by Broderick Crawford, brings his ditzy mistress, ex-showgirl Emma 'Billie' Dawn, played by Judy Holliday, with him on a shady business trip to Washington, DC, he quickly decides that she is going to be a liability if he doesn't get her smartened up. He hires Paul Verrall, played by William Holden, to educate Billie. As Paul teaches Billie, she becomes socially aware and thus a foe to Brock.
