Background
Plans for Born of Hope already started end 2003, but only materialized November 2005, when casting for the movie began. Auditions were held all through March 2006, when final castings were completed. The first half of 2006 was used for storyboarding, props and wigs creation, and examining one of the major filming locations , West Stow, a small early Anglo-Saxon exhibit village. A first trailer of the movie is also shot there.http://www.stedmundsbury.gov.uk/sebc/play/weststow-asv.cfm
During the creation of the movie, the production team regularly featured in fanbased magazines and conventions, like The Gathering of the Fellowship and Ring*Con. They regularly report on their progress, and get the fans enthusiastic.
After this enthusiastic start, the project halted for nearly a year, only to be picked up again in May 2007. From May to September, the script was finalized. The rest of 2007 was filled with preparing the actual filming, including some fight training. Actual filming took place at West Stow in the second half of 2008, with large gaps in between. The filming, post-production and promotion took most of 2009, resulting in a succesful release in December 11, 2009. http://www.bornofhope.com/Diary.html

Description by the Production Team
"A scattered people, the descendents of storied sea kings of the ancient West, struggle to survive in a lonely wilderness as a dark force relentlessly bends its will toward their destruction. Yet amidst these valiant, desperate people, hope remains. A royal house endures unbroken from father to son."
"This 70 minute original drama is set in the time before the War of the Ring and tells the story of the DĂșnedain, the Rangers of the North, before the return of the King. Inspired by only a couple of paragraphs written by Tolkien in the appendices of the Lord of the Rings we follow Arathorn and Gilraen, the parents of Aragorn, from their first meeting through a turbulent time in their people's history.
