The Zombie Island of Dr Ned is the first downloadable content for the game Borderlands, developed by Gearbox Software and published by 2K Games. It was released on November 24, 2009 on Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC. The content can be accessed via any Fast Travel Station in the game. Three more downloadable contents followed this one: Mad Moxxi's Underdome Riot, The Secret Armory of General Knoxx and Claptrap's New Robot Revolution, adding new weapons, enemies and an increase of the level cap.

The Zombie Island of Dr Ned is best for players with level 35 or more. The player will discover a new area, a swampy dark place that looks like the bayou in Louisiana. Most of the enemies of the content are zombies. They do not use guns but throw puke as a corrosive projectile. The most powerful enemy is the Tankenstein, a huge zombie that can regenerate through electricity attacks.

 As soon as you start battling zombies, you'll notice that many times when you get a critical kill (a head-shot), a new kind of item, a Zombie Brain, will be released. These are only useful for the optional side quests involving the zombie TK, who you can find in Hallow's End. The brains won't count for anything until you've accepted a quest from zombie TK. Until then, don't bother picking these up; the won't help you in any way, and will only distract you.

The player travels to Jakobs Cove,  a small town built by the Jakobs Corporation, now infested with zombies. The task of the player is to protect the people of Jakobs Cove and find the origin of the zombie problem. To help them is Dr.Ned, a scientist working for Jakobs Corporation and he needs help to find a cure.

Borderlands, the original game, has been released on October 20, 2009. It brings the player to Pandora, an isolated planet where colonist are fighting against an alien threat. Four characters can be chosen, all with their own special powers and ability.

The second downloadable content, Mad Moxxi's Underdome Riot, was released on December 29, 2009. This content does not feature a story but offers an arena where players has to fight several waves of enemies.

The third content, The Secret Armory of General Knoxx, was released on February 23, 2010. It brings the player in the search of a secret armory full of devastating weapons, guarded by an ex-soldier: the General Knoxx.

The last content named Claptrap's New Robot Revolution was released on  September 28, 2010. The Claptrap, these nice robots from the game, are going frenzy and the player has to find the origin of this robotic revolution

Recalibrate the defense turrets.

1. From a Fast Travel station, go to Jakobs Cove. Talk to the Clap Trap to get the mission.
2. Get ammo in front of the windmill and follow the path that goes down. Jump over the rocks. You will meet your first group of zombies. Stay behind the rocks and shoot them in the head. Use a Fire weapon if you have one, zombies burn well.Be careful as they throw puke at you that can easily damage your shield. Back, in the swamps, are more of them. Use a sniper rifle to take them out.
3. Go in the swamps and kill the coming zombies. Pick up their brains as you need them for a side mission.
4. Go straight and fall down the hole. Follow the path until you arrive at an intersection.
5. Head right to Jakobs Cove. There are many zombies running free in the city and you will need to activate three gatling guns located in the city. 
6. First, use a sniper to kill as many zombies as you can from a high position. 
7. You can find a Gatling gun on your left when you arrive in the city, the second one is located south of the city and the third one is on a platform west. Get near a gun and push the action button to activate the gatling turret.
8. Once you completed the mission, talk to the Clap Trap inside the city to get your reward.
