    Borderlands is a first-person shooter with RPG elements that allow players to customize their characters and vehicles. The game is being developed by Gearbox Software, who worked on the PC version of Halo, developed the Half-Life expansion "Opposing Force," and developed the Brothers in Arms series of FPS games.

    Borderlands takes place in the distant future, a new colony has been formed on the isolated planet of Pandora. The colonists' dreams are quickly tarnished by harsh reality, however, when they discover that the planet offers little more than some mysterious alien ruins and horrifying creatures.

    The game feautres a solid single-player game, as well as two-player versus mode and four-player co-op. There are four different playable characters, each with unique abilities and strengths. As in a role-playing game, each character can gain levels, improve their stats, and the player has various options for customization.IGN: Borderlands
