Bootsy Collins

  • Bootsy Collins is a legendary funk bassist and singer-songwriter. He played in James Brown's band the J.B.'s, and joined George Clinton's Parliament and Funkadelic groups in 1972. He created Bootsy's Rubber Band in 1976, and went on to work with other artists in the late 1980s.
  • Collaborations

    In the late 1980s Collins began collaborating with other artists. He helped Jerry Harrison, formerly ofthe Talking Heads, produce an EP titled "Bonzo Goes to Washington". In 1990 he worked with Deee-Lite on their hit song "Groove Is In The Heart" by providing bass guitar and vocals. In the following years he worked with bluegrass musicians Del McCoury, Doc Watson and Mac Wiseman. He appeared in Snoop Dogg's Rhythm & Gangsta album.
