• Boom Blox, a puzzle game for the Nintendo Wii, was developed in a collaborative effort between Steven Spielberg and Electronic Arts. The goal is to knock out the various different blocks to flatten them. It has been described as a combination of Jenga and Tetris Blast, featuring a physics model that allows for a realistic collapse of the blox, a robust level creator, and hundreds of levels and puzzles.
  • Gameplay

Multiple level-dependent methods are used to extract the blox from the tower. In certain cases, you will grab the blox and discard them with a virtual hand. In others, aim at a block and make a throwing motion with the Wii Remote to knock it out with a varying assortment of balls, e.g., baseball, bowling ball. Or, you will spray a water hose to get the blox out with the stream of water. The Wii Remote also simulates blowing, pushing or shooting as other methods of collapsing the blox.

As you progress through the game, continue to move from one level to the next, earning bronze, silver, or gold medals based on your score.

There are unique properties within certain blox that trigger various actions when they are struck, such as explosions, vanishing and chemicals. Working around these blocks can be challenging, but their special properties can also be used to your advantage.
