Bond Girls

The term "Bond Girl" can loosely be used to describe any female appearing in a James Bond movie, story or video game. In the 2008 Bond film, Quantum of Solace, the Bond Girls are Ukrainian model Olga Kurylenko and British actress Gemma Arterton.

Major Characteristics

Standard Bond girls tend to be, of course, exceptionally beautiful, and in many cases significantly younger than Bond himself. When they first appear in the story, they are often in league with the villain, requiring Bond to use his powers of seduction to turn them to his side.
Bond Girls often have sexually suggestive names, such as "Holly Goodhead" in Moonraker or, the most famous example, "Pussy Galore" from Goldfinger.
Only one Bond Girl has ever appeared in multiple films: Sylvia Trench, portrayed by Eunice Gayson in both Dr. No and From Russia With Love.
