The Bolivar Peninsula is a narrow strip of land on the Texas coast. Located in the easternmost section of Galveston County, the peninsula is less than three miles from Galveston Island, separated by the channel of Bolivar Roads. Hurricane Ike
- Mandatory evacuation orders were issued for Bolivar Peninsula at 7 a.m.on September 12, 2008 as Hurricane Ike gathered strength and headed towards the area.
