Giovanni Boccaccio Timeline
- 1313: Born in Tuscany on June 16.
- 1326: Moves to Naples with his father.
- 1336: Writes Filocolo.
- 1341: Returns to Florence.
- 1343-1344: Composes La Fiametta.
- 1349: Begins working on the Decameron.
- 1350: Meets Francesco Petrarch in Florence.
- 1355: Writes Corbaccio.
- 1360: Works on Genealogia deorum gentilium, which wasn't finished until his later years.
- 1361: Leaves Florence to reside in Certaldo
- 1375: Dies at his home in Certaldo on December 21.
