Bobby Thigpen is a former Major League Baseball relief pitcher. Thigpen set a major league record for saves in a single season with 57 in 1990 while playing for the Chicago White Sox. He currently manages the Bristol White Sox Minor League Baseball team.
MLB Career
Bobby Thigpen drafted by the Chicago White Sox in 1985 and made his major league debut in 1986. His best season came in 1990 when he set a record of 57 saves during the regular season. He also kept an ERA of 1.83 and was selected to the American League All-Star Team that year. Thigpen played his final major league game on April 27, 1994 with the Seattle Mariners.
