Czech professional hockey player Bobby Holik plays for the New Jersey Devils in the National Hockey League. He previously has served as captain of the Atlanta Thrashers, but his contract with the Thrashers expired at the conclusion of the 2007-08 regular season and he signed with the Devils on July 1, 2008.
NHL Career
Holik was drafted 10th overall in the first round of the 1989 NHL Draft by the Hartford Whalers. He made his NHL the following year, joining the Whalers for 78 regular season games. He was then traded to the New Jersey Devils on August 28, 1992. Holik won the Stanley Cup Championship with the Devils twice, in 1995 and 2000. He stayed in New Jersey for 10 seasons, then signed with the New York Rangers on July 1, 2002.
