  • Bob Geldof is a singer, writer, political activist and actor. He is well known for establishing the famine relief group Band Aid with Midge Ure of Ultravox. The duo then hosted Live Aid in 1985, which raised $283.6 million for famine relief in Ethiopia.

  • Charity work

    • Band Aid: A British and Irish super group created by Geldof in 1984. The project was assembled in order to provide famine relief in Ethiopia. The song Do The Know It's Christmas was single released by the group.
    • Live Aid: A charity concert organized by Bob Geldof and Midge Ure in 1985. This concert was set in Philadelphia and London and also raised money for famine relief in Ethiopia.
    • Live 8: A string of benefit concerts to fight poverty. The shows preceded the G8 Conference in July 2005.
