  • Bob Costas is an American sportscaster currently serving as host of Football Night in America on NBC, and will host the network's prime time coverage of the 2008 Olympics. He has won 20 Emmy Awards in his career for sportscasting, and was the original host of the late night talk show Later, which was the precursor to Last Call with Carson Daly.

  • A man for all seasons

    After college, Costas got his first break as play-by-play man for the St. Louis Spirit of the ABA. He would eventually work for NBC and began serving as pre-game host for network coverage of the National Football League and worked Major League Baseball games. Eventually, he would become the host and eventual play-by-play man for the National Basketball Association, and has served as host for NBC's coverage of the Olympics. Costas has been one of the few baseball broadcasters that has been allowed at times to blur the line from announcer to fan. Some have suggested he would be the perfect candidate to someday become the Commissioner of baseball.
