  • Bo Diddley was a pioneering rock & roll guitarist and songwriter who helped influence countless blues and rock musicians. Diddley moved to Chicago as a boy, where he first picked up guitar and began performing around town. In the 1950s, Diddley signed to Chess Records and released over 40 albums during his career. His signature rhythm didn't sell a large number of records, but Diddley's songs have been covered by many well-known artists through the years, including Eric Clapton and Buddy Holly.
  • Diddley's Death

    Diddley died on June 2, 2008 at the age of 79 in his Florida home as a result of heart failure.

    In 2007, the singer suffered a stroke and a heart attack that left him ill for many months.

    He was also previously diagnosed with diabetes and hypertension.
