The BMW X3 is a compact SUV from German automaker BMW. The X3 made it's debut in 2003 after the success of the X5 with BMW's stability control xDrive system. The exterior styling of the X3 has been changed every year since it was introduced. It's competitors include the Land Rover Freelander, Acura RDX and Lexus RX.

- In an episode of Top Gear Jeremy Clarkson tested the X3's offroad capabilities in modestly difficult terrain. The X3 got stuck and had to be towed to a more suitable position more than once.
