The Bluth Company is a fictional real estate company in the comedy television show, Arrested Development. The company was founded by George Bluth Sr., but since his incarceration for committing "light treason" (contracting homes for Saddam Hussein), George's son Michael has become acting President.
George's first son, GOB, also vied for the position of President, mostly because he wanted the "title, office and stuffs" associated with it, but GOB eventually wound up taking an offer to work for the Bluth Company's more successful rival, Sitwell Enterprises (run by hairless, Edgar Winter look-alike, Stan Sitwell). GOB's position at Sitwell did not last long, however, after he pitched development communities with names like "Singles City," "Swing City" and "f*$k City."
The Bluth Company builds high cost, low quality mini-mansions (or at least one of them) in a place called "Sudden Valley". As part of Phase 3 development, Michael designed a neighborhood with a communal pool... but construction ground to a halt when his workers went on strike (thanks to GOB).
Michael and GOB also piqued the interests of some potential Japanese investors by building a model "Tiny Town" in their backyard, but that whole deal fell through when Tobias (dressed as a mole) and George Michael (wearing a jet pack) destroyed the town in a Godzilla-like fiasco.
The Bluth Company also has a subsidiary, unrelated to real estate, which is the Frozen Banana Stand Franchise run by George Michael. The Banana Stand was affectionately nicknamed the "Big Yellow Joint" by locals in the 60s, due to it's uncanny resemblance to a marijuana cigarette. GOB owns all rights to the Banana Stand's mascot, Mister Banana Grabber, except for animation rights. He also built a second Banana Stand right next to the original one on Balboa Island, in an effort to one-up Michael, grow closer to his newly discovered son Steve Holt (Steve Holt!), and also launder Colombian money for his father in the process.
