Bluefly.com, founded in 1998 is a designer clothing retailer. The company headquarters are located in the Fashion District of New York City and offers designer brands and trends including Marc Jacobs, Prada, Gucci, Ralph Lauren and Diane Von Furstenberg at discount prices from 40% to 70% off. Bluefly.com operates as an internet retailer. The company offers 350 brands of men's and women's designer clothing, accessories, and furnishings through it's e commerce website. Last year it offered 50,000 styles. It has cornered a niche market for online buyers of designer labels and luxury merchandise who'd rather get it at a discounted price. When a lot of luxury retailers are struggling buyers are browsing more online and buying bluefly.com. Their stock price is up 76 percent for the year. Bluefly.com announced an increase in net sales and reductions in operating loss for the first quarter of 2010. Bluefly.com closed the second part of a $15million investment deal with Rho Ventures in March 2010. CEO Melissa Payner says there's been an increase in customer activity and average size orders for the first quarter 2010.
